Baby Exchange was founded by Robbie and Nora who are the proud parents of Jaymon and Sienna. The idea for Baby Exchange originated when baby Sienna was born on June 30, 2006. Realising they had all these hardly worn boy's clothes from their first born Jaymon, they thought wouldn’t it be great if they could exchange them for girl's clothes. Selling Jaymon's clothes and then using the money to buy some girl's clothes was not worth the effort. Then it hit them … wouldn’t it be great to have a place where parents could exchange their "not so used" baby clothes? When they thought about it in more depth, Robbie and Nora realised that other baby items such as toys, books and baby accessories could also be exchanged.
Originally, the idea was to directly exchange with someone, which meant finding someone who had what you wanted and they wanted what you had. It was Nora's mother who came up with the idea of adding items to a collective basket. This means you don’t have to do a direct swap, but instead can choose anything from anyone. At first there were many questions of how to keep the exchange process fair, and how to ensure that the items listed were of a high quality. Then after days of brainstorming Baby Exchange was finally born.
Today Baby Exchange has become more than just a place to exchange baby goods. It is also a place where parents can obtain information about parenting and the latest baby products and services available. Robbie and Nora realised that as well as helping parents, they could also help children in need by donating to a charity. They are currently reviewing which charity to donate to as the Kids with Cancer Foundation, which was their choice of charity, rudely declined their offer.
Robbie, Nora, Jaymon and Sienna invite you to join Baby Exchange and hope that you have lots of fun exchanging your items.
Love, Peace, and Happy Exchanging!
