Q: Can I obtain items if my items have not yet been chosen, or if I haven't listed any items?
A: Yes. You can obtain the items by paying their worth (either $10, $20 or $50). Choose the “obtain items” option when choosing items, and follow the prompts to make a payment through Paypal.
Q: Do I have to become a member if I don't have anything to exchange, but wish to obtain an item by paying it's worth?
A: Yes. However if you only wish to obtain one item then email us within 60 days of signing up and you will get your $10 membership fee refunded.
Q: Why is it that on some days there is not much items to choose from?
A: Because when members choose each others items they cancel each other out. So if members with "select power" are choosing items at a faster rate than new members are listing their items, there may only be a handfull of items during that time.
Q: Who pays for the postage?
A: The person who has listed the items pays the postage. You may use the postage calculator to work out the cost of sending your items. We recommend using the pre paid Parcel Post satchels, up to 500 gms is $5.50 and up to 3 kgs is $9.00 to anywhere in Australia. You may list large items as Local Pick Up only. Remember, when it’s your turn to choose an item, then the other user will pay to have the items posted to you.
Q: Can I sell my items on Baby Exchange?
A: No. Baby Exchange was designed to cut out the process of having to chase payment then having to purchase another item with that money. The fact that no money changes hands between members also eliminates you from being targeted by scammers.
Q: Can I edit my listed items?
A: Yes. You can edit your items, add or remove items, upload photos, change categories etc by signing in, going to Member, My Items and clicking on the Edit button.
Q: Why are my items not being chosen?
A: Firstly check that you have not overvalued your items. Secondly check that you have listed your items in the most appropriate categories. If you haven’t uploaded any photos you may wish to as items with photos always do better. Lastly, if you have listed your item as local pick up only you may consider posting it.
